Position Summary:
An exciting career with Harman provides our employees with the opportunity to work with the newest advanced automotive in:vehicle technologies on the market. With this role, youll gain experience supporting external customers and internal teams members in a fast:paced, challeging environment. The Systems team oversees how Hardware, Software, and Mechanicals work together to integrate into the vehicle, as well as the performance and stability of the system. The successful Systems Engineer will bring together the Hardware, Software, and Mechanical Engineering teams to maintain a stable, well:performing and predictable system that the customer is proud to have in their vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:
:This role is a customer interfacing technical role that is supports the systems engineering efforts
:Work with the customer and other team members to define the customer experience with the other modules and external devices
:Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates these into software designs with the proper domain responsible team members
:Support and lead the implementation and validation of the system integrations
:Optimize KPI performance through data provided by analytics tools. This includes coordination of activity across multiple domains to achieve the desired customer experience
:Help root cause complex warranty items in support of post launch activity
:Support teams outside of the software engineering and hardware engineering teams to understand the product. (Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, and Test)
:Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bus, and/or port to different platforms
:Participates in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program
:Coordinates software development activities in support of the software team leader
:Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate software development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups
:Works with the customer to further define requirements and to resolve issues

Basic Qualifications:
:Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science
:5 years of embedded software development or testing
:Must have general knowledge of automotive infotainment systems and their applications
:Recent significant systems/software experience with complex development cycles that span multiple release versions
:Must be able to articulate vision and influence decision making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and the customer
:Must have a whatever:it:takes attitude using diplomatic leadership skills within a collaborative teamwork environment to accomplish the necessary results
:Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative and execution skills

Preferred Qualifications:
:Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
:Working knowledge of embedded operating systems
:Working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers, compilers, etc.).
:Working knowledge of software development processes
:Experience in developing drivers and other embedded components
:Experience in QNX, Linux, or Android for development on Infotainm
