AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Project Engineer II who is experienced in electrical battery systems. Qualified candidates must possess at least 3 years of applicable experience and have an understanding of HV battery technology, have experience in HV battery electrical design, and experience in HV battery system and component testing. Profound communication skills are also required. This role will provide technical and program engineering skills to Skill Team and Cross:Functional engineering program team activities, with a focus on the Electrical/System Hardware Engineering aspects of battery system technology development, and the vehicle integration of these technologies. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full:time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.The Systems Engineering Team works to define project architectures and requirements, and delivers functional integration of mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, energy storage systems and Connected Autonomous Vehicle technologies within conventional, hybrid and electric vehicle applications. The group is responsible for delivering a systems based approach to efficiently capture and manage functional requirements as well as executing vehicle development programs (in particular vehicle technology integration), system architecture development, including verification/validation of the identified and implemented functional requirements.The specific roles of an Electrical/Systems Hardware Engineering :Battery Systems, Project Engineer II include:Lead the development of HV battery system electrical and system hardware elements within hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain system platforms.Support the definition and execution of: functional requirements, system boundaries, component and subsystem interface definition, functional safety, and performance trackingProvide technical guidance to quality and reliability engineering and assist with FMEA activitiesPlans and manages engineering activities according to project requirements.Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, HV battery system hardware and component development and testing, data analysis and validation.Supports/ensures data quality and writes technical project reports.Reviews project for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, including opinions and interpretations.Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues.Plans and executes HV battery system research and development activities.Supports and organizes customer meetings.Other duties as required to ensure project success.An Electrical/Systems Hardware Engineering :Battery Systems, Project Engineer II is expected to have demonstrated performance abilities in the following areas:CommercialQuote Leader for a small size programSupport the Business Development process for specific clientsEfficient on time delivery of program expectations with consistently high feedbackTechnical Identify and support opportunities for technology development, process improvements, tool development, and knowledge capture and re:use.
