AVL Powertrain Engineering is looking for a Project Engineer II to add to our DRIVE team. This position will focus on commercial vehicle applications including customer support, participation in the development of the AVL:DRIVETM tool, seeking areas of expansion, writing proposals for benchmarking and leading bench marking projects, mentoring when needed, and supporting the AVL:DRIVE team as seen fit. Qualified candidates should possess at least 5 years of applicable commercial vehicle experience and have a strong interest in commercial vehicles. Strong communication skills are required.The AVL:DRIVE Product team is responsible for technical management of the North and South American AVL:DRIVE business. The team is responsible for supporting customer usage of AVL:DRIVE, internal PEI usage of AVL:DRIVE, and assisting the PEI business development team with growing AVL:DRIVE product sales. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full:time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.Plans and performs advanced technical account management for key AVL:DRIVE customers for the commercial vehicle market: customer interaction via phone, email and onsite visits, coordinating customer benchmarks, training, and product rollouts. Supports interaction between the local AVL:DRIVE team and the Graz AVL:DRIVE team: managing customer A?issueA? lists and coordinating customer interactions with Graz. Supports specific phases of PEI vehicle application projects in which AVL:DRIVE is a key tool: executing predefined tasks (to be defined together with the projectA?s commercial and technical managers), and/or impromptu support during project execution. Supports local PEI Business Development efforts including: pre:sales efforts, onsite customer presentations, proposal support, post:proposal followup, and oversight of commercial issues (pricing, deliverables). Other duties as required to insure success of the AVL:DRIVE Product business.Bachelors Degree in automotive related engineering 5 years experience with commercial vehicle application and/or commercial vehicle driveability assessment Strong understanding of commercial and customer interaction skills Strong English oral and written communication skills20 TravelPosition located in Plymouth, MI
