AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc is looking for a Project Engineer II who is knowledgeable and experienced in Battery Management Systems. Qualified candidates must possess at least 3 years of applicable experience and should be knowledgeable in hybrid/electrification technology, have experience in HV BMS design, and be experienced in HV BMS integration with other vehicle systems. This role will provide technical and program engineering skills to Skill Team and Cross:Functional engineering program team activities, with a focus on BMS (Battery Management System) technologies, and the vehicle integration of these. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full:time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position. The Systems Engineering Team works to define project architectures and requirements, and delivers functional integration of mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, energy storage systems and CAV technologies within conventional, hybrid and electric vehicle applications. The group is responsible for delivering a systems based approach to efficiently capture and manage functional requirements as well as executing vehicle development programs (in particular vehicle technology integration), system architecture development, including verification/validation of the identified and implemented functional requirements. The specific roles of a Systems Engineering :Battery Management Systems, Project Engineer II include:Execute systems engineering principles to integrate BMS technologies within hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain system platforms.Supports the development of BMS hardware and software within hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain system platforms.Definition and execution of: functional requirements, system boundaries, component and subsystem interface definition, functional safety, and performance tracking, in relation to BMS elementsProvide technical guidance to quality and reliability engineering and assist with FMEA activitiesSupports Functional Safety / ISO26262 activities.Plans and manages engineering activities according to project requirements.Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, powertrain system and component testing, data analysis and validation.Supports/ensures data quality and writes technical project reports.Reviews project for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, including opinions and interpretations.Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues.Executes BMS research and development activities.Supports, organizes, and leads customer meetings.Other duties as required to insure project success.A Systems Engineering : Battery Management Systems, Project Engineer II is expected to have demonstrated performance abilities in the following areas:CommercialQuote Leader for a small size programSupport the Business Development process for specific clientsEfficient on time delivery of program expectations with consistently high feedbackTechnical Identify and support opportunities for technology development, process improvements, tool development, and knowledge capture and re:use.
