Do you know the trades? Not interested in the same thing day after day? Looking to do more oversight than hammer swinging? You should give this serious consideration. We need someone with lots of knowledge and experience to help us out, mostly in the field walking jobs and using your brain, but also with a little hands on time, maybe a bit in the office occasionally as well. The rest of the boring stuff is below.We are an established General Contractor in Illinois and Michigan with multiple service lines. Growth means we could use a qualified Carpenter to be part of our team.This is a full time position (Monday through Friday) with opportunity for overtime at a competitive wage. Full benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance/Short Term Disability and Accident Coverage. We also provide a company vehicle, as well as paid training and certifications. Compensation is commensurate with experience.Duties & Responsibilities:Quality control inspections on finished job sites.Full home walk throughs and documentation of repair needs.Interacting with employees, subcontractors, partners, and other company contacts to get the job done.Alter, repair, and construct a variety of building structures such as walls, partitions, doorways, window casings, stairways, windows and roofs.Design, construct, remodel, repair and install cabinets. Install flooring, ceiling and wall covering materials.Apply drywall to walls and/or ceilings, prepare panels for painting by taping and finishing joints.Apply paint to surfaces including walls, doors and cabinets. Mix, match and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel and other finishes. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.Estimate and requisition materials for work activities; maintain records of job time and materials used.Install and maintain doors, locks and other security hardware.Other duties may include light electrical and plumbing work.Daily use of ipad, computers, applications and phone.Requirements:5+ years of experience.A valid driver's license.Consent to a motor vehicle check / background check.Good communication / interpersonal skills while providing quality customer service.Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks within allotted time frame.Able to work well with others as well as independently, with little or no supervision.Superb attention to detail and problem solving skills.Provide own hand tools.Do you know the trades?
