Job Description AUTOMOTIVE PARTS SALES COUNTERPERSON Apply to be a member of our Automotive Parts team today! Job Responsibilities: Assist walk-in clients in accurately selecting required parts utilizing the Ford and Microcat online catalog. Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information to clients. Retrieve parts purchased from inventory or if the parts are not available, prepare parts requisition to set up on the daily order. You will also determine if the part is available from Ford. If the part is on back order, can it be sourced from one of our vendors, another local dealer or shipped to us from out of state. Process orders for daily deliveries to clients, pick up or shipment. Follow up with clients on special order parts. Create the parts invoice and process the payment. Ensure that all cash, credit, purchase orders, charge accounts and tax exempt sales are processed in accordance to company policies. Process web based sale orders. Handle core returns. Handle parts warranty claims. Return parts to stock and issue credit invoice. Complete and maintain Ford Motor Company’s training requirements. Help manager merchandise the parts in our display cases. Assist outside sales representative. Log lost sales for manager. Do bin counts and flag discrepancies to manager. Work with our shop technicians to source parts for repair work. Job Requirements The ideal Automotive Parts Counter Salesperson candidate must have a strong commitment to become a professional whose focus is not on the sale, but the long-term business relationship. You will build your business one client at a time and then leverage the last client into more clients. You will listen more than you speak so that you can understand your client’s needs which will enable you to find a solution. You will deliver more than you promise, and always promise a lot! You will be willing to invest in networking in the community and in your relationships. You will invest in your career, your business, and your clients. You will hold yourself to high standards and won’t need others to hold you accountable. Empathy, honesty, and integrity are key characteristics. Must have at least 1 year of previous automotive sales experience Outgoing personality with expertise at developing relationships (ie, a “people person") Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software and internet proficiency Excellent appearance, verbal/written communication, strong presentation skills Must possess the ability to ask for the sale and follow through Detail oriented Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and a DMV check What We Offer Excellent pay plan 43 hour work week – No weekends!
