Senior Power System Protection/Analytical Engineer
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships. Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects. Assigned projects will include protective relaying engineering for utility and industrial/commercial clients. Systems to be analyzed will include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems. Technical disciplines include protective relaying:
+ Short circuit and symmetrical component analysis
+ Communication-aided line protection
+ Coordination using distance and overcurrent protection elements
+ Circuit breaker, bus, and transformer protection
+ Protection scheme and criteria development
+ Relay settings calculation and documentation
+ Post-fault event analysis
+ In-depth understanding of system and substation single-line diagrams, along with AC and DC schematic and wiring diagrams
+ Integration with SCADA systems
+ NERC compliance
+ Arc flash hazard analysis and mitigation
Applicable software includes: Electrocon CAPE, ASPEN Oneliner, AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS
The successful applicant must also demonstrate aptitude in the following:

Required Education/Experience
+ Requires a BSEE
+ Ten (10) + years of industry experience protective relay application.
+ PE or equivalent
Desired Education/Experience
Preference is given to applicants with any of the following:
+ Direct experience coordinating protective relays using Electrocon CAPE software
+ Experience preparing settings for modern protective relays used in protection of transmission voltage lines and substation apparatus
+ Experience supporting temporary setting development for construction outages
Preference is also given to applicants with experience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects.
