This positon reports directly to a Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager within the Clinical Engineering Department. Represents Clinical Engineering in a positive manner to the Health System, customers, vendors, as well as patients and families. With minimal supervision, this position supervises biomedical equipment technicians who repair, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of medical equipment. Executes the Medical Equipment Management Plan on a daily basis. Primary responsibilities include establishing schedules and work priorities, and providing daily supervision and support to all assigned team members. Makes adjustments as needed to accommodate changing workloads. Ensures that staff maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation as outlined by current CE policy and procedures. Regularly monitors preventative maintenance (PM) performance and ensures PM completion requirements are met. Participates in the evaluation of new equipment and assists the manager with major projects. Provides coverage and support, as needed, for manager during manager s absence. Performs other duties as required.
Primary job site is the main campus of Michigan Medicine. Anticipated hours are 7:00a 3:30pm M-F.
**Required Qualifications***
An Associate s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or equivalent Military training is required. Five years of hands-on repair experience for a wide variety of biomedical (and/or imaging) equipment in a health care setting.
**Desired Qualifications***
Seven years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Prior experience as a lead technician or in a supervisory roll preferred.
**Background Screening**
