The Director, Quality will have a demonstrated track record of success with hands on execution in deploying quality systems and improving delivered quality to our customers. The successful candidate will provide the highest level of internal and external customer service. This role facilitates multiple improvement teams in applying Six Sigma tools and techniques to achieve results. The successful candidate will interface with test engineering and customer quality engineering as well as a dotted line interface with quality control within the global manufacturing space. Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, as well as interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
This position will have no direct reports.
:Problem solving leader for Toyota account. Resposible for training engineering and program management teams to solve problems and root cause failures using a variety of problem solving tools and methodology (8D, 3L:5W, fishbone, fault tree analysis, Shanin Red:X, etc..)
:Lead and coordinate resolution to customer related quality issues and communicate quality and continuous improvement requirements and expectations. Insures the root cause for quality problems is quickly determined and that effective, permanent solutions are implemented.
:Responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of data collection systems to support manufacturing processes during development and in mass production. This includes supporting long: range plans for implementing and/or improving quality systems, as well as assisting in the development and improvement of performance measures of the process.
:Responsible for the participation in maintenance and/or development of a quality cost collection and reporting system that identifies prevention, appraisal and failure costs; perform root cause analyses to identify sources of quality cost in manufacturing; and implement ways to reduce overall quality costs.
:Responsible for supporting the development of new products through participation in the development of quality evaluations of new products and processes. This includes participation, as appropriate, in the standardization of procedures and processes to ensure consistent ongoing quality.
:Bachelor's Degree in a technical/business discipline.
:Minimum 5+years experience in Operations / Engineering Management.
:Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
:Experience in leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
:Masters degree is preferred.
:Consumer electronics industry experience.
:Willingness to travel 25:50 of the time, (Japan and Mexico)
:Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI.
