Position Summary:
This AME NA/Global Strategic Capacity Planner will be responsible for strategic capacity planning for North America and compiling information from all regions including Asia and Europe into a global report. The principle objective of the position is to support the optimization of the manufacturing asset base utilizing math based modeling and analysis. Key activities of this position include: modeling load profiles, analyze, and implement optimization methods to find least total cost solutions given business plan volume scenarios. The successful candidate will facilitate strategic manufacturing decision making by illustrating optimal product and manufacturingline mix profiles.
Job Responsibilities:
:Use the Capacity planning tool, Business Warehouse and other capacity planning tools
:Generate the global monthly capacity report with standard formatting.
:Work with other regional capacity planners.
:Generate scenario specific plans to aid in strategic planning.
:Design, develop, integrate, maintain and improve capacity planning simulation models, which optimize cost, balance load, and maximize throughput. Coordinate this activity between the NA plant managers and regional capacity planners.
:Support strategic executive decision making by illustrating optimal product and manufacturing line load profiles. This includes recommending line balancing options, product transfer scenarios, and total manufacturing line cost simulations by plant location.
:Educate operations leadership on the technical and business benefits derived from the analytical models. Increase the general awareness of utilizing math:based assessment. Tools in improving operations.
:Stay current on short:range capacity planning models. Facilitate executive decisions to balance labor staffing, and line loading given current demand.
:Manage customer capacity inputs and capacity survey plans. Communicate capacity constraints, and customer volume variances to business plan forecasts.
:Integrate the product introduction and end of life schedule with master production planning and capacity schedules.
Basic Qualifications:
:Bachelor's Degree in quantitative discipline, engineering discipline, or combination information science.
:Minimum 5+ years of related manufacturing experience preferred.
:Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) experience required.
:Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
:A working knowledge required in manufacturing operations, ERP planning systems, and analytical and mathematical/statistical model building skills required.
:Strong analytical manufacturing capacity flow model building skills to support executive decision making and optimization are essential.
:Manufacturing process flow and manufacturing planning and control systems analysis skills are essential.
:A successful candidate must be strong at converting math based technical information into material effective in educating senior executives without diluting technical content. This must be accomplished in both written/presentation and verbal communications.
:Strong personal computer software and programming skills are required. Experience with simulation optimization software programming. (MS excel, MS Access, MS Vis
