Nature of Work: Performs varied services, which may include customer service work, staffing rentals, events and programs, routine labor and custodial work and light clerical duties. Work may take place at any of the Parks & Rec facilities, outdoor parks and event sites. Monitors facility rentals and special events to ensure compliance with Parks & Rec General Rules and specific facility rules and regulations. May be responsible for Cobblestone Farm facility tours. Work requires independent decision making and initiative. Works primarily independently and occasionally with other Parks staff to ensure customer needs are being met. Effectively and pleasantly manages complaints and difficult customers. Responsible for opening and closing of facilities for events using established checklist. Ensures facilities maintain a clean and professional appearance. Required Qualifications: Minimum age requirement of 18 years and graduation from High School or possession of GED certificate. Proven customer service work in recreation, hospitality or other related industry. Strong communication and conflict management skills. Friendly, pleasant and outgoing personality suitable for working with a diverse community. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Desirable Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience working in catering or hospitality industry and/or special event supervision. Work Schedule: Hours vary according to facility rentals and special events and will mainly include weekdays from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM and weekends 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM. Total weekly hours up to 25 hours; working hours in any given week are not guaranteed. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Will work alone on most occasions for events.Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
