Rose Senior Living at Providence Park seeks a Life Enrichment Director to join its team. The Novi, Michigan, location will consist of 182 units: 69 independent living rental apartment homes, 75 assisted living rental apartment homes and 38 residences for seniors requiring memory care services.The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for planning and delivery of recreational (activity) programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents, based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. Specific responsibilities include:Ensures appropriate recreation programming is provided to meet the needs of current and future residents by keeping abreast of changes and innovations in the area of recreational activities, as well as state and federal regulations regarding long:term care.Designs and implements programming systems, according to resident/client needs, interests, and functioning levels. Develops and maintains policies and procedures pertaining to Life Enrichment Department and communicates these to Recreation staff and other departments. Performs assessments (initial, quarterly, annual) of residentsA? recreational needs and completes required sections of MDS, assists in the development of care plan to meet those needs, and participates in resident care conferences. Plans and conducts individual and group activities, events, and outings to meet the assessed needs of residents, supervises Life Enrichment staff, provides transportation using facility vehicle and documents resident participation in recreational and activity programming.Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.Responsible for department budget and ensuring availability of supplies.Maintains an interdisciplinary focus, being mindful of the needs and operations of other departments. Communicates with other departments in advance of events that will require their assistance and participation.Develops and maintains a master calendar of events, outings and other recreational opportunities for residents. Other duties as assigned.This position requires a person who has a minimum of three to four years related experience and a four year degree in a related field. Knowledge and understanding of the field of geriatrics and the interpersonal, spiritual and psycho:social needs of older adults is also desirable. This position requires the employee to possess a valid driverA?s license and driving record which meets Ecumen Driver Policy standards and proof of vehicle insurance. Must meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations which include Medical Certification and Road Test, if applicable.
