Job Summary
The Department of Pathology Division of Pathology Informatics at Michigan Medicine is seeking an experienced and qualified candidate to serve in the capacity of lead analyst/architect for a large and growing Virtualization Environment that currently supports the department s many business missions. The successful candidate should be comfortable with fast-paced projects arising in a complex application development environment, with this individual serving in the role as a Systems Programmer Analyst Senior. The candidate will work in both Clinical and Research IT environments in coordination with other Michigan Medicine Service Providers that are integral to delivering patient care.
A major thrust of this position will the provisioning of direct infrastructure support of the Division s Virtualized environment, along with associated application suites, which themselves represent diverse range of healthcare IT services (examples being: vendor supplied applications, containerized application and server images, and in-house containerized services such as Docker and VMware). Prospective candidates should be self-motivated and comfortable approaching complex problems.
+ Provide technical leadership and expertise to the Informatics Division on current and anticipated high-availability / high-concurrency architectures in a complex Clinical Health Care and Research environment
+ Maintain a VMware vCloud Director Cluster (5.5u2) with emphasis on maintaining best practices for high-availability architecture
+ Provide support for a growing Docker and Kubernetes host cluster
+ Manage a SaltStack configuration management system
+ Oversee a web centric CI/CD pipeline
+ Provide infrastructure and application support for a wide variety of clinical services
+ Provide support for Linux to Active Directory file system mapping
+ Deployment of Red Hat and Ubuntu using Ansible automation tools
**Required Qualifications***
+ Bachelor s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field and 5 7 years, of experience managing infrastructure in a large complex environment
**Desired Qualifications***
+ Familiarity with the concepts of a Software Defined Networking and virtual private datacenters
+ Experience with VMware s product suite, vCloud Director preferred
+ Working knowledge of Source Control (git) and the various tooling surrounding it (gitlab, github etc)
+ Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and container orchestration
+ Comfortable working with both Windows (Windows Server 2008+) and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu)
+ Experience working with bash, Powershell desired
+ Familiarity with Linux Shell Scripting languages
+ Familiar with the concepts of configuration management systems, experience with SaltStack, Python, or the jinja templating language preferred
+ Database experience with PostgreSQL
+ Database experience with MySQL, SQLServer, or Oracle a plus
+ Familiar with ELKStack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or other central log systems (familiarity with Jenkins a plus)
+ Experience working in a complex Clinical Health Care and Research environment
