**Job Summary**
Michigan Medicine s Anesthesiology department seeks a Programmer Analyst to support the day-to-day operation of the Multicenter Perioperative Outcomes Group (MPOG), Research Data Warehouse and hospital operation. Primary responsibilities include: project management, analysis of informatics system and working with the team on software development.
This is a part-time limited time internship.
The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the following tasks:
+ Work with end users to ensure the system meets the organization s business needs.
+ Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with MPOG and department work processes
+ Analyze end users needs versus software configuration options.
+ Ability to coordinate analysis across multiple groups
+ Prioritize and implement approved changes to the MPOG and department systems.
+ Participate in training and support of end users.
+ Troubleshoot problems and questions.
+ Coordinate software updates and changes.
+ Review and test each new release or upgrade bundle.
+ Analyze new functionality to determine impact on users and configuration effort.
+ Collect information regarding potential system enhancement needs.
+ Prepare details of specifications as needed.
+ Support related Third Party software applications
+ Troubleshoot server connections and interfaces as needed.
+ Monitor usage and explore integration opportunities.
**Required Qualifications***
+ BA/BS degree or better.
+ 2+ years of relevant experience in healthcare industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform business/workflow analysis, document business requirements, create scope documents, and standardize operating procedures.
+ Ability to conduct investigation, analysis and resolution of projects in a self-directed and timely manner.
+ Ability to engage support and coordinate projects across multiple application and operational teams.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Working knowledge of communication/collaboration tools, including spreadsheets, presentation and word processing software.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, organizational skills and understanding of LEAN principals.
+ Ability to work as part of a team to support multiple clinical and administrative user groups.
+ Share in rotating on call responsibility, including evenings and weekends.
**Desired Qualifications***
+ Experience related to health care system.
+ Project management experience.
+ Customer service experience
