Job Description We are growing and are seeking a entry level Network Technician to join our team! We are looking for a entry level candidate with a strong foundation in troubleshooting basic computer and server issues, demonstrated through education, work experience, or certification. A typical day in this role includes going from your residence, onsite to your assigned client for the contracted hours, then back to your residence, with needed trips to home office if clients equipment is shipped to office for pre-setup. Hours vary based on contracted hours with client (hours can range from 8:30AM - 6PM, 8AM - 4PM, 9AM - 5PM, or split shifts from 9AM - 12PM and then from 1PM - 5PM). The responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to are: general networking, help desk support, to maintaining clients’ computers, servers, and networks. Percent of time spent between client teams will vary depending on client requirements, so ideal candidate must be flexible, learn quickly, and have great interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing wired and wireless network systems Handle repairs and exchanges of defective devices Collaborate on the improvement of network design and connectivity Perform routine network maintenance Maintain inventory of network electronics Qualifications: Previous experience in IT or other related fields Fundamental knowledge of networking, hardware, and software Ability to prioritize and multitask Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills Deadline and detail-oriented Records accurately time spent, and tickets completed in ConnectWise Enters and submits accurate time-sheet when time-sheet is due Shows up on time client sites and meetings Essential job functions: Infrastructure build and repair Basic server loads, log-on script creation and modification Server OS and application troubleshooting Anti-virus software installations Switch and hub installations Basic router work Basic Firewall Installations Network and phone wiring experience Documentation and Training: Testing and learning of beta software in a test environment Certification tests and study (some performed off hours) Development of procedures and knowledgebase materials Enters appropriate documentation into ConnectWise, LabTech, SharePoint and the like Troubleshooting and repair of workstations for LTI-IT clients: Computer reloads (all Windows platforms) OS and application troubleshooting Backup software and backup job monitoring and tuning Computer PM’s and monitoring Responding to support requests: Workstation application installations and upgrades Software patches User account modifications Server share and permission modifications Resolve users support requests within acceptable SLA response range When not scheduled for client work, time will be spent around the below items: Help Desk clean up, ticket follow up Testing and learning of beta software in a test environment to keep LTIIT as an innovative market leader Certification tests and study (some performed off hours) Development of procedures and knowledge base materials Covering emergency impromptu shifts at clients when needed Researching support needed for more advanced tickets Required skills: Onsite presence at clients in South Eastern Metro Region, unless notified of a remote shift Ongoing training and study some of which will be performed on personal time Presents themselves in a professional manner Excellent problem solving skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong customer service skills Strong communication skills Use of ConnectWise or LabTech software a plus Work conditions: Usual work hours average to 40 hours per week, position is full time salaried Mileage reimbursement Occasional weekend / after-hours work with special project pay when approved by management Travel to work sites is expected (you must provide your own vehicle) Moving of monitors and computer equipment weighing up to 55 pounds Wiring work May require climbing a ladder May require the use of power and hand tools Ability to work in a safe manor when doing wiring work, or moving clients equipment No contract work at this time.
