Job Summary The Network Architect - Lead, Complex Device Integration Services, will provide technical leadership of connected devices and systems that are deemed to be complex in nature and are not part of any supported Service Provider category or inventory. The position will also provide technical leadership to the on-going Michigan Medicine Inventory efforts and Splunk Infrastructure support. This position will be working closely with Michigan Medicine Service Providers and will assist the Managers and Director of Enterprise Networking and Communication Services with planning, developing, and recommending short-term and long-range information technology goals and objectives related to those services. This is a full-time exempt level position, reporting to the Manager of the Complex Device Integration Services Team **Responsibilities + Lead operational aspects of the Enterprise Inventory management process + Collaborate with Managers/Service Providers and customers to evaluate and manage IoT Devices and implementation efforts within Michigan Medicine + Develop processes and procedures to evaluate and manage complex devices and systems including being the Service Provider of last resort for devices or systems that lack a clear Service Provider and governance + Coordinate monitoring of complex devices/systems + Collaborate closely with Enterprise Continuity Director to support HITS and Michigan Medicine Continuity efforts + Maintain Service Provider documents for the Enterprise inventory project + Manage development of in-house tools for the Enterprise Inventory project + Manage and maintain the HITS Splunk Application environment + Provide EI liaison and resources to the HITS research group for data center consolidation + Participate in operating and capital budget preparation + Conduct team and status meetings + Represents the Enterprise Infrastructure unit in various working groups, steering committees and governance bodies **Required Qualifications Requirements for the Lead Position: + Education: Bachelor's degree in a field related to Information Technology or related to healthcare or a minimum of 10 years overall relevant experience + 3-5 years of experience leading an engineering team (5 or more staff) + Demonstrated understanding of the HITS connected inventory environment + Ability to understand and support medical/complex connected devices or systems across all areas of Michigan Medicine + Demonstrated experiences with relevant infrastructure security standards and practices + Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects + Demonstrated ability to envision and operationalize new project and strategic planning + Proven ability to be successful and work well with other leaders in a changing and ambiguous environment Requirements for the Senior Position: + Education: Bachelor's degree in a field related to Information Technology or related to healthcare or a minimum of 7 years overall relevant experience + 3 years of experience leading an engineering team (5 or more staff) + Demonstrated understanding of the HITS connected inventory environment + Ability to understand and support medical/complex connected devices or systems across all areas of Michigan Medicine + Demonstrated experiences with relevant infrastructure security standards and practices + Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects + Demonstrated ability to envision and operationalize new project and strategic planning + Proven ability to be successful and work well with other leaders in a changing and ambiguous environment **Desired Qualifications + 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team (5 or more staff) in a health care environment + Demonstrated understanding needed to support an enterprise Splunk environment + Experience with managing and supporting research and bio-medical devices within a large academic medical center + Broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies + Solid understanding of the broader clinical, research and cultural environment of the health system and the University + Experience participating in recognized technical and governance standards committees **Underfill Statement** This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. **Additional Information** This position is being posted to the Complex Device Integration Services team under the Enterprise Network and Communication Services unit in the Enterprise Infrastructure Division of Health Information Technology & Services (HITS). Please note that in this position description the term Michigan Medicine (MM) refers to the organization that supports the tripartite missions (Clinical, Research, Education), and the term IS/IT refers to the unified information technology and services functions servicing both the Hospitals and Medical School. The term Service Provider refers any team or department within Michigan Medicine that supports a device inventory. **Additional Information** SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General direction is received from the Director, Enterprise Network and Communication Services. **Background Screening** Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
