The infotainment hardware group is seeking a Manager, Mechanical Engineering/UX for a position to work under the leadership of Sr. Director of CoC User Experience. We are a fast paced, start:up:feel group of talented inventors, engineers, researchers, and designers located in Novi, reporting directly into the Connected Car Division. The team aims to be the most forward:thinking group in the company, and is focused on leveraging future User Experiences (UX), connecting the dots between cutting edge technologies and deep research, and rapid end:to:end prototyping, and brining that into products. Every day, we challenge ourselves to turn Science Fiction into reality. This role who would be responsible for the advanced packaging and mechanical accommodation of high performance automotive electronics and display modules.
This position will be responsible for directing and supporting the work of other mechanical and HW engineers.
:Responsible for leading the development of the mechanical packaging for automotive infotainment head units in particular displays units, touch and lens and other sensing technologies.
:Lead and analyze all packaging feasibility and performs thermal simulation, vibration, and shock analysis as required to ensure design meets product specification.
:Release and maintain controlled documents as required.
:Responsible for ensuring product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications and cost targets.
:Provide preprogram support with quick turn designs/samples and technical documentation as required.
:Prepare documents and reports with cross functional teams for engineering and program management along with participating in design reviews with customers and engineering peers.
:Manage product timelines to meet overall project goals.
:Update and Release BOMs using Harmans configuration management and PLM systems.
:Manage the development program documentation, PPAPs, and FMEAs.
:Lead remote display module realization of customer requirements and specifications (RFC, RFI, RFQ), product test plans, and production QA processes as needed to ensure the development and manufacture of quality products.
:Technical support for the industrialization of functional items in an international environment.
:Oversee the product conformance testing for environmental performance to automotive and customer requirements.
:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master degree preferred.
:12 years of experience as a mechanical engineer packaging electronic components and assemblies into automotive products or related product
