Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for supporting the accounting processes of the company to include the month-end close process, completion of account reconciliations, maintenance of accounting records, adherence to internal controls and for being a key leader on the Finance Team that drives strategy for the Sales & Use Tax function.PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in month-end accounting close processes in compliance with critical reporting deadlines. Prepare journal entries, audit schedules, year-end tax schedules and other required quarterly schedules accurately and on-time to support the Masco financial reporting schedule.Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations of key accounts as assigned. Prepare and file monthly GST/HST/QST returns with Canadian Revenue AgenciesProvide information to our external preparer to support filings of state/local tax returnsEnsure compliance with the state sales & use tax laws and minimize assessments from sales & use tax audits.Respond and manage notices from tax jurisdictions and support the resolution of issuesProvide ongoing training to all locations regarding taxability of capital and expensesAddress any sales & use tax deficiencies with the appropriate locations to ensure future compliance. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field.4+ years experience in Sales & Use tax or comparable tax/accounting experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Experience working on state sales use tax audits and defenses/appealsDemonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.Ability to travel domestically up to 20%PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Prior ERP experience (Oracle, SAP).Experience with CCH, Sabrix or Thompson OneSourceSimilar industry/corporate background is a plusMBA or Masters in Taxation is a plusCompany DescriptionMasco Cabinetry manufactures three nationally recognized cabinetry brands, KraftMaid, Merillat and QualityCabinets, and the DeNovaTM countertop brand.
